Nigeria’s unity under attack from terrorists, separatists – Tinubu

 President Bola Tinubu has described terrorism, insurgency, banditry, and separatist movements as grave existential threats to Nigeria’s unity, warning that they must no longer be seen as minor disturbances. He, therefore, ordered the Nigerian Armed Forces and security agencies to decisively confront terrorists, bandits, insurgents, and separatist agitators threatening the nation’s unity and peace. Delivering the President’s message at the grand finale of the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration held on Sunday at Murtala Square, Kaduna, Vice President Kashim Shettima said the military had the full backing of the Presidency to act without fear or hesitation. “To the officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army, I say this with absolute clarity: the time to rise is now. “You have my full authorisation and the trust of the Nigerian people to confront and defeat those who seek to undermine our nation. AN EXTRACT OF THE FOUNDING OF IGBAJO AND ITS PEOPLE

 Igbajo, as it implies, is “Agbajo Eniyan “  meaning “Assembly of people”. The town according to some records , cited by Ademola Fasiku was founded  around 300 AD. In the book, “IGBAJO, CITADEL OF THE GRAVE”, Professor Tugbiyele claimed that Igbajo was first  founded by one one Esidale who has its’s origin from the Oduduwa’s ancestry , reported to be the migrant to the present site of Igbajo  from ile-ife, during the Oduduwa period . As an adventurer of the Oduduwa prince  who failed to return to Ile-ife was declared missing by his father to Oduduwa.  Hence , the saying : “Esi dale l’ o ni Igbajo “ . Three masqueraders land in prison for flogging Enugu residents 29th June 2025

An Enugu Magistrate Court has remanded three masqueraders for allegedly assaulting and infliction bodily harm on members of the public during the celebration of Oriokpa Masquerade. The suspects, Emeka Eze (33), Omeke Uchechukwu (22), and Malachi Nnaemeka (30) were arrested on Tuesday by operatives of the state police command. They were subsequently arraigned and remanded on a three-count charge bordering on conspiracy, demanding money with menaces, and causing grievous harm. According to the police, the suspects assaulted and inflicted bodily harm on members of the public under the guise of celebrating the Oriokpa Masquerade. The spokesperson of the command, Daniel Ndukwe, in a statement on Saturday, disclosed that the case had been adjourned to July 31, 2025, for further hearing. “The Commissioner of Police has ordered intensified efforts to apprehend the remaining members of the masquerade group who are currently at large,” Ndukwe said.
